The end of The Game of Thrones and now a long wait for the next and final instalment is going to be a nail biting wait. I really enjoyed this season so many story lines coming together and some mega deaths and intrigue.
I am considering adding Netflix to my TV package there has been a lot of good programming on the channel and with the clamp down on the iffy internet site I need to do something. I will have to run it past the wife first which may not be easy I may need a sweetener.
Saturday - ITV – The Jonathan Ross Show 9:30pm
Ross is no Graham Norton but I will give him another go I miss a British chat show I watch way to many American ones. Since his move from the BBC to ITV it is not, the same and the quality of the guests overall have been poor.
Tonight’s show is much of the same with popstar turned actor Harry Styles is a guest. Also, Suranne Jones is on the show plugging the return of the award winning ‘Doctor Foster’ and retired track star Mo Farah also a guest. Finishing the line-up comedian John Bishop.
Sunday – Channel 4 – Exodus: Gods and Kings 9pm
Christian Bale stars as Moses in director Ridley Scott's Biblical epic based on the Book of Exodus. As the film opens, Moses (Bale) is fighting alongside his brother Ramses (Joel Edgerton) to help defend Egypt, which is ruled by their father Seti (John Turturro).
When Moses saves Ramses' life during a battle, Ramses fears that it is confirmation of a prophecy stating that his brother will become the king one day. Soon after Seti's death, Moses, who is actually Jewish and not Egyptian, is banished. However, he soon becomes the leader of the Jewish people and leads a rebellion -- with the help of a wrathful God -- against the Egyptians.
Monday – Sky One – Sci-fi: Greatest Moments 9pm
I love Sci-fi films and watch all newly release stuff mostly on TV but if there is something special, I hit the cinema. Over three consecutive Monday’s Sky One will be exploring the greatest Sci-fi of all time, as voted for by a panel of the world's leading Sci-fi experts.
Bound to be lots of stuff to interest me. Hopefully a few snippets of something new but that will be hard because I can’t think of any good films I have overlooked. I even liked those B-movies the Americans are fond of calling them the low budget films like Starcrash (1978) I was only watching earlier watch out for my review.
Tuesday – Channel 5 – The Hotel Inspector: Checking In, Checking Out 10pm
Man crush alert she is back, Alex Polizzi. Yes, the Hotel Inspector is back revisiting past hotels she helped. It never ceases to amaze me after calling in Polizzi they fight and argue they no better than her even when their business are in a dire state.
Tonight she is checking into The Blue Inn to see if the Redditch hostelry has kept its books in order and whether self-confessed, workaholic owner Donna has improved matters.
Wednesday – Channel 4 – Grand Designs 9pm
Kevin McCloud is back with Grand Designs so I will be fix to the tele looking for building tips for when I win the lottery and can afford one of these projects.
Ex-RAF pilot Jon and his GP wife Gill have return from four years in New Zealand and want to bring back something from New Zealand by building a Kiwi-style hill house. Having chosen the Malvern Hills in Worcestershire and acquired a plot of land the first problem is to find a builder to work on the three-storey wood and stone clad home.
Thursday – Sky Atlantic – Tin Star 9pm
Former London police detective Jim Worth (Tim Roth) is the new police chief of a remote and beautiful Canadian mountain town, where he has moved with his family to escape his past. The town suffers an influx of migrant workers from a new big oil company, headed by the mysterious Mrs. Bradshaw (Christina Hendricks), forces Worth to confront the resulting wave of crime that threatens his town.
Worth's stand against the criminals results in assassins attacking him and his family, leading Worth to revive his violent alter-ego, Jack Devlin, to enact revenge
Friday – Premiere Sky Cinema – Passengers 8pm
I like Jennifer Lawrence and a number of her film and she can be very entertaining on chat show after a drink, note The Graham Norton Show.
A passenger (Chris Pratt) aboard a spacecraft traveling to a distant planet is awakened from suspended animation by a technical glitch -- 90 years before the vessel is due to reach its destination. Faced with the possibility that he will live out the rest of his life alone, he considers waking up another traveller (Jennifer Lawrence) in order to have a companion.
Friday – Channel 4 – Gogglebox 9pm
They are back the opinionated sofa TV critics of Gogglebox in a new series. Will we see any new families or friends in this season line-up?
I don’t think any one doesn’t no the format of the show but families and groups of friends from around Britain sit about their own living rooms watching and reacting to that week’s British TV shows, armchair critics. Some of the cast members have gone on the forge a career on TV losing their place on the show.
The latest former Goggleboxer to make it big is Scarlett Moffatt but at the cost of her family who lost their spot on the show. Stephanie and Dominic Parker the posh couple from the show have found a niche on TV but look at pensioners Leon and June Bernicoff very popular but still with the show, we hope.
