I love the History Channel as it is home to many of my favourite TV shows and tonight I am excited about the return of Ice Road Truckers (9pm History Channel). The History Channel is home to American Pickers, Storage Wars, and Shipping Wars and many more all on my must watch list.
The series returns to treacherous roads, ice covered lakes, and the weather predicted to be between cold and very cold. There should be plenty of rivalries between competing companies for loads, the drivers and then there is the queen of the road, Lisa Kelly. The last series we watched the battle between two companies Polar Industries and a rival company set up by Hugh “Polar Bear” Rowland part owner of the new company and former employee of Polar.
Hauling goods by truck on ice roads isn't just about being a good driver. It can be extremely profitable with oil companies has well as supplying isolated communities. The elements often throw in a surprise or two and working in such conditions there is never a dull moment not a place for a break down.
No assignment is off limits, no road is too dangerous, and no ice crossing is too thin in this battle for winter roads supremacy and with every load delivered, it means money in the pocket.
