The Red Shoe Diaries was an adult TV series from the early nineties on cable television. I can’t remember which channel but I think it may have been on the Playboy channel they were the makers of the show. It stared David Duchovny (pre-`X-Files') seeking to learn why his fiancée killed herself. He seeks why from woman who answer his personal ads. It was the appearance of Kira Reed, I remember most, and she became one of my many crushes.
She was a soft-core actress mainly but she also worked in the hard-core part of the business and worked on general shows like the Hospital drama, ER and NYPD Blue as a guest star. She worked on both sides of the camera and I supposed she is mostly remembered as one of the hosts of another Playboy TV show and producer on Playboy TV's series Sexcetera.
Launched in 1998, Sexcetera ran for more than 80 episodes with the programme eventually going off the air in 2005. You can still see the show on late night on Satellite TV on the Real Lives channel.
The show featured a number of presenters who would travel worldwide looking for the quirky in sex. The reports generally covered sexual fetishes, adult entertainment expos and gatherings, current erotic trends, sex toys, and tips for couples, anyone really on how to cheat to swing.
Kira was well up for just about anything and like I always say “easy on the eye” I happen to watch a episode the other day and she interviewed a fetishes photographer and of course couldn’t resist joining in the fun by taking part in a photoshoot. She was never adverse to joining in and shedding her clothing for the sake of her job. Another favourite was when she crashed a swinger’s party and looked to have stayed on after the cameras were switched off.
