Sunday Crush – Suzanne Danielle - Carry on Emmanuelle

Suzanne Danielle was a face well known to British TV and films in the seventies and early eighties, she appeared in a number of magazine, and newspapers photo shoots. Her roles were diverse from ‘Doctor Who’ to the hard-hitting seventies cop show ‘The Sweeney’. Further television roles followed, working with impressionist Mike Yarwood where she portrayed Diana, Princess of Wales, opposite Yarwood's impersonation of Prince Charles and guest starring in Hammer House of Horror and Tales of the Unexpected, all popular series in the early 1980s.

She trained as a dancer, began appearing as a dancer on television variety shows, and subsequently joined a dancing troupe called The Younger Generation. She was a stunning looking woman, short hair and very curly and I have to say fit. She was regarded a TV sexpot playing the glamorous wife/girlfriend in many of her roles.

Carry on Emmanuelle
I best remember her from “Carry on Emmanuelle” (1978) a rip off after some one thought why not cash in on the Emmanuelle soft- core porn film series popular with the dirty mac brigade among others. It was a sad end to the old Carry on film franchise involving the old characters it had a relaunch fourteen years later (Carry On Columbus) and maybe they should have left in alone.

However, the association with the Emmanuelle and Sylvia Kristel is just in the name but because there is no sex to speak in the film, lingerie at the most. The only redeeming thing about the film was Suzanne Danielle a joy to behold in her body hugging outfits and her ventures into lingerie.

Tales of the Unexpected
Playing the beautiful and sex-starved Emmanuelle Prevert just cannot inflame her husband’s ardour. In frustration, she seduces a string of VIPs, including the Prime Minister and the American Ambassador. A jealous lover gives a list of all her conquests to the national press and a scandal ensues. But will she ever manage to get her own husband into bed? Don’t get excited about the sex it is very mild more suggestive like the group orgy with a football team involves her kissing each of them slightly and that's it – no nudity from her!

There is some nudity and this was her first film starring role. Having met and started dating the golfer Sam Torrance and they later married she became a stay at home mother.
