Cardiff City v Bournemouth - We Need A Win

Football’s back with Cardiff City home to Bournemouth and the first Cardiff home game since the disappearance of Emiliano Sala and pilot David Ibbotson and respect will be paid to Sala before kick-off. It will be an emotional game and shown live on BT sports.

The closing of the transfer window saw Cardiff making one signing Leandro Bacuna coming from Reading and expected to make his home debut against Bournemouth. In his pre-match press conference Cardiff boss Neil Warnock felt there was a reluctance to join the Welshman and revealed they were close to signing someone else before financial demands from the player's representatives scuppered the deal.

I really want to know who the player was! Don’t you.

So now we are who we are and the fight to remain in the Premier League really begins in earnest with visitors Bournemouth who beat Chelsea 4-0 mid-week and a 2-0 victory last weekend over West Ham maybe not the best time to face them. Cardiff are looking for their first win since the 1-0 win over Leicester at the end of December.

January was a piss poor month just picking up a point and kicked out of the FA Cup by Division 1 opponents so I am looking towards February as a fresh challenge. Beside Bournemouth we play … away at Southampton next weekend then two home games Watford and Everton - surely, we can carve out a few more points in February.

New signing Bacuna is set to replace Harry Arter with the Republic of Ireland midfielder unable to play against his parent club. Victor Camarasa and Josh Murphy, who both missed the 2-1 defeat to Arsenal on Tuesday, will be assessed according to the club.

Defeat for Brighton and the fact they are five points behind 12 place West Ham as dragged them into the relegation league table.

Fixtures that matter.
Brighton v Watford
Tottenham v Newcastle
Crystal Palace v Fulham
Burnley v Southampton
Chelsea v Huddersfield

So predictions! Why do I bovver … anyone out there think Cardiff will win this game besides Cardiff City fans I very much doubt it. It is something us Bluebirds have to live with until the dying breath of the season.
