AFTER two defeats against promotion rivals Cardiff have dropped a place to third in the league table with Fulham in the all-important second automatic promotion spot, one point ahead but Cardiff have a game in hand.
With five games left three of which are away, it is going to be a busy three weeks for Cardiff boss Warnock his staff and players every game will be a cup final. Although fans are not really interested in money there is a shed load of cash that comes with promotion as well as world recognition.
For me it is all about that final automatic promotion spot I am not happy with the play-off route to promotion it is just one big lottery and not worth two extra games and a possible trip to Wembley. Cardiff City boss Neil Warnock has been reported not to be worried about the possibility of the play-offs and is relishing the chase to catch Fulham, “Stay calm and enjoy the ride,” Warnock is telling nervous Cardiff fans. Still I would prefer it if Fulham were doing the chasing.
Its Norwich today and again a must win game and I really mean it we have to win all our games and we will have promotion in the bag not as if it could not be done. We cannot sit back hoping for Fulham and Aston Villa to slip up we need to take our fate into our own hands. But a slip up would be nice. In December at the Cardiff City stadium, the Welshman had a comprehensive 3-1 win. Our record visiting Norwich’s Carrow Road ground this not the best in the last ten visits Cardiff managed one win, drew twice and the win was back in October 2010.
Fulham are home later today with an evening kick off against Brentford while Aston Villa played last night home to Leeds and they won 1-0, which puts them a point behind Cardiff and its getting tight between the three teams trying to fit into the final automatic promotion spot. No one will catch Wolves champions elect.
Yanic Wildschut is unable to be selected as he is on loan from Norwich and unable to play against his parent club. Talking to Wales Online City boss Warnock gave an update on Joe Ralls and declared Norwich maybe to soon but he could be in contention for the visit of Nottingham Forest.
Meanwhile Jazz Richards is edging closer to a first team return, and expected to return to full training next week. Neil Warnock has admitted that he could soon be facing several selection headaches over the coming weeks, providing his side do not pick up any more injuries, although long-term absentees Danny Ward and Matthew Connolly remain on the treatment table.
