Top of the League stuff at the Cardiff City Stadium tonight

THE biggest game of the season tonight top of the league stuff with first and second duking it out for the points the game at the Cardiff City Stadium is live on Sky Sports in front of the biggest crowd seen in a while. Cardiff boss Neil Warnock has won back-to-back Manager of the Month awards and voted manager of the Championship team of the season that somehow admitted any Cardiff players from the team.

Cardiff City take on Wolves with plenty at stake with both needing the points Wolves have a six points lead over Cardiff although the Welshman have a game in hand, making a win important. A win would help Cardiff keep Fulham at bay who have been climbing the league table quietly but now making a big noise.

Warnock claims both his players and himself are looking forward to the game. An interesting stat Cardiff have the best home record but on the other hand visitors Wolves had the best away record in the Championship and the bookies have Wolves favourites to win but most pundits favour a draw. I would be happy with a draw if it was guaranteed that Fulham and Aston Villa would drop points preferably losing their games tomorrow.

Around 5pm, I reckon my nerves will kick in two hours and so before kick-off at the moment I feel relaxed as I wait to see the team for tonight and a lot of surfing social media to hear what other Cardiff fans are thinking.

You can bet the studio pundits tonight will be talking about Cardiff being unfancied for promotion. Pre-season Championship prediction mostly had Cardiff in the bottom half of the league table with Aston Villa favourites with many. I made a note of the predictions made by Daily Mirror writers' on who would be Champions at the end of the season

ANDY DUNN – Leeds, JOHN CROSS – Aston Villa, DARREN LEWIS – Wolves, ADRIAN KAJUMBA – Middlesbrough, NEIL McLEMAN – Middlesbrough, MIKE WALTERS – Wolves, JAMES NURSEY – Middlesbrough, DAVID McDONNELL – Aston Villa, DAVID MADDOCK – Middlesbrough, SIMON BIRD – Aston Villa. No one fancied Warnock and is troops.

The mid-week games brought conflicting results for Cardiff … Wolves only managed a point while Fulham and Aston Villa had good wins. Cardiff managed to salvage a point, a lucky point against Sheffield United with a very, very late goal to scrap a point.

Games that matter this weekend

Today - Cardiff v Wolves
Saturday – Norwich v Aston Villa
Saturday – Sheffield Weds v Fulham

Games are coming fast now with the season coming to a end and counting Wolves tonight there are only seven games left and will be back in action Tuesday night with another high pressure game at Aston Villa.

Cardiff have not lost a league game since New Year Day and sizeable undefeated run of games and back in August we beat Wolves 2-1 at their ground with goals from Ralls and Mendez-Laing it would be nice to do the double over them.

Joe Ralls and Matt Connolly could feature for Cardiff in the top-of-the-table Sky Bet Championship clash with Wolves on Friday night. Midfielder Ralls hasn't played since February due to a hamstring injury, while Connolly has been out for a month and is edging closer to full fitness.
