Why mess with a classic! The cornbeef pastie or the meat and potato besides being simply the perfect snack is a firm favourite with the British public but not safe from tinkering. There is always a boffin cook in some laboratory kitchen attached to some manufacture or supermarket coming up with some crazy food related idea.
Only today, I read on Facebook about a fish and chip shop in Cardiff selling a deep-fried Wagon Wheel the same place was selling deep-fried cream eggs at Easter. Some food is sacrosanct. It messing with things that don’t need messing with.
Even the pastie are not safe from the laboratory chefs having come up with a Scotch egg pasties recipe. Tesco are promoting the recipe on their website and from the accompany picture I don’t fancy one. I suppose that one day they will be available on the shelf.
