It was enough for this man to cry over my toast this morning at news that Pussy Galore, yes Pussy Galore is a lesbian, heart breaking for mankind.
Pussy was the top totty in Goldfinger - played by Honor Blackman but in the new Bond thriller book written by Anthony Horowitz she only as eyes for another woman. Her character is one of the most remembered of the ‘Bond Girls’ and not just for the name but the voluptuous body of Honor Blackman.
Below is possibility one of the best film dialogue's ever in a film,
James Bond: Who are you?Pussy Galore: My name is Pussy Galore.James Bond: I must be dreaming.
Come to think about it Pussy had ‘I am a lesbian’ written all over her. In the film, she is the leader of Pussy Galore's Flying Circus, a group of women aviator’s staff by beautiful model types. Bond being Bond, it is not long before he is trying to get into her knickers only to have his advances repels with the words: 'You can turn off the charm, I'm immune.'
However, not to be put off he persists with his overtures towards her and gets to first base with a bit of rough and tumble in the barn. At the end of the film, they make out under a parachute. Did he get anywhere near third base we don’t see the normal ending to these early films with Bond sitting back looking smug afterwards shot.
In the book, she was a lesbian. In this new one, which picks up the Bond story two weeks after Fleming's Goldfinger left off she is a lesbian. In the new book, Bond is given a female instructor to help him become a racing driver. True to form, he tries to seduce her, but they are interrupted by the need to rescue Pussy Galore – at which point the women run off together.
