The snow has gone but for a few out crops but I have rather made a decision forced on me by the weather and getting my fingers burnt in the great bread debacle. I am the first to cry out in laughter when the bread has been stripped from the shelves in a supermarket in a panic. Some customers who would normally buy a loaf buy a few extra six or seven and milk I forgot about the white stuff.
Well I was well and truly caught with my trousers/pants down out by the snowstorm this time and I was in my local Tesco before the hoarders arrived and could have easily stocked up on the precious food of life. After my visit the shelves were stripped bare by wiser people than yours truly who went back later to see the bread all gone.
Should I buy a bread maker that is the decision I am mulling over?
Yes – it is so easy I have been told! More convenient than by hand something I like. All you do is poop your mixture into your bread maker, sit back, and wait. But one thing I have learnt doing some research you must get the right machine!
I did buy one before but it was never used in fact after about a year and a half, I gave it to my sister but that was bought on a whim and it was a Clockworks make, cheap and not one of the best. I have rather chosen one just I need to do a bit more research before making sure I will use it if bought. The last thing I need is another electrical white elephant in my cupboard where such items go to gather dust.
I am still debating whether to learn to make my own. I have noted plenty of lessons doing the rounds locally or I could join the herd. With the herd as soon as the first flake of snow hits the floor you get in there and stock up with every slice of bread you can find.
I really enjoy having a freshly baked loaf over supermarkets mass-produced product it may cost more but the quality soon makes you forget. I like to frequent local bakeries Brutons and if nearby Pettigrew Bakery and it is good to shop local it keep shops open and a local shopping area lively.
