CARDIFF CITY roll on tomorrow towards the end of the season with a visit from Birmingham City there is not much love between both sets of fans but there is a new reason to refresh it. Their new manager is former Swansea player/manager Gary Monk who is detested by many Cardiff fans and will help add some extra atmosphere to the game.
Cardiff are on a fantastic run of form, which they hopefully will continue tomorrow at the Cardiff City stadium having won their last five games while visitors Birmingham have lost their last seven and are trying to fight off relegation and going into this game reside in the bottom three in the league table two points from safety.
If Cardiff win that will be six wins on the trot the Championship is still in crazy mode but it guarantees nothing until the points are undisputable. I believe it will take around 90 points or over to guarantee one of the two automatic promotion spots.
The Bluebirds are still six points behind league leaders Wolves but more importantly still four points ahead of third place Aston Villa with Cardiff fighting for the second automatic promotion place. Warnock is playing down automatic promotion talking play-offs but that’s a kind of Warnock thing to expect.
The big game of the day must be Wolves who are set for a tricky fixture away to local rivals Aston Villa. I suppose many fans will be looking to a draw as the best outcome while I would prefer a Wolves win and if Cardiff did win that would extend the Welshman’s leader Aston Villa to seven points.
Warnock’s squad is still injury-hit but he revealed at his pre-match press conference that some are set to return to the side in the upcoming weeks.
“We’ve got two tough away games next week and then an international break.
“Looking at most of [our injuries], they might be available after the break and we could have a run-in of eight or nine games with a proper squad.
“For now, we’ve got to get through the next week with what we’ve got and try and get as much point as we can.”
This week we found out Cardiff 100millon in debt mostly to owner Vincent Tan but it’s a scary numbers for any fan and a nosebleed for any club.
Cardiff have 11 games left going into today’s game
