AFTER the win over Barnsley, Cardiff are keeping their grip on the second automatic promotion place and are still four points clear of third place Aston Villa. Both main rivals’ for promotion leaders Wolves and Aston Villa have games tomorrow after they played out a 4-1 win to Aston Villa Saturday evening.
Wolves have a home fixture against Reading and are three points in front of the Bluebirds while Aston Villa are also home to Queens Park Rangers. Cardiff City are on the road to Brentford looking to keep up their excellent winning run of six games and ten since they had lost a game in the league.
The game is live on Sky Sports one of five earmarked for televising before the end of the season for the Welshman.
Brentford are just in the top end of the league table and could still with the right results going their way slip into the play-offs but there just may not be enough games left.
Cardiff expect to be without influential midfielder Joe Ralls again until the end of the upcoming international break after suffering a knee injury in training. Craig Bryson could also miss out after limping out of Saturday's 3-2 win against Birmingham.
Callum Paterson should shake off a knee injury and Gary Madine and Sean Morrison are in contention to start after returning to the bench on Saturday after injuries.
Cardiff City boss Neil Warnock is not happy with the scheduling of the Burton Albion game on the Friday night after the end of the international break calling it 'pathetic'. The Bluebirds could have as many as six players away on international duty with first team goalkeeper Neil Etheridge in the Philippines with only a few days to get back for the Burton game.
