Sunday crush is back after the short break with Sunday lush taking over for a few weeks, which will return at a later date. After the hiatus, I have refreshed my memory and have a list of ten and more all of whom class as crush material that will keep me busy for a while.
The lucky choice this Sunday …. A written fanfare with trumpet … Rebecca Brooke a Playboy model after befriending Hugh Hefner while working at the Playboy Club in Chicago. She was not a cover girl nor a centre fold to my memory but as she progressed in soft porn, she was seen in many adult magazines in film shots where she caught my eye and my youthful imagination.
Predictably she moved into more hard-core pornography and I suppose her best and most remembered film is “Confessions of a Young American Housewife” in which she plays a young happy housewife in a happy swinging relationship with her neighbour and best friend and their husband until her mother turns up and becomes involved.
My favourite film of hers would be “The Switch or How to Alter Your Ego” (1974) also starring Jennifer Welles you could see as a crush in a while. This film was a parody of Doctor Jekyll and Mr Hyde loosely where we see Rebecca play Dr. Shirley Jekyll, a shy, withdrawn female scientist who invents a formula that turns her into a horny, oversexed nymphomaniac of course.
She gave up her film career in 1977 and outside of acting, she was a gifted cook and seamstress she opened a restaurant with her husband in civilian life.
She was born Mary Mendum and grew up in a poor family outside of Chicago she died 2012, she died in Boca Raton, FL, of an accidental drowning due to a fall.
