Can sex sell??

I don’t think there is anything Cardiff City owner Vincent Tan could do to move more of his red football shirts not even if he was to employ Ayr United’s marketing ploy. (See photo to the left) Having seen Mr Tan model the now infamous red top its enough to put anyone off his or her half-time Clarks pie.

Ayr United have come up with a novel way to sell their new 2014 football shirt. I must say it beats the normal shots of a player modelling the shirt, have we become a bit bored of those kind of launches and need scantily clad woman to sell them. It puts a new meaning on "football strip". The sponsor, Bodog an online gaming company must be happy with the coverage the series of pictures are receiving.

Can’t see it working unless the shirt were to contain the shapely model, Ellis Cooper, sex may sell we are told, but not football shirts. I think Ayr United would make more money selling it as a poster or calendar of the football season.

Although if you believe some of the post on social media a few fans are not happy with this publicity stunt I myself can’t see why they should be bothered. Its not new pastures for the Scottish club they did the same last season (See picture below). I think the new shirt is the best ……..
