Watching football from a beach hut ... classy

Like most football fans if I was to hit the right numbers on the lottery one of the first things I would do is check the availability of a luxury corporate box at my football club.

At the Cardiff City stadium one of their Executive Boxes start from £26,000 plus vat for up to 15 guests in your own glass-fronted suite with all the extras you would expect. There is also seating outside your suite for your guests.

So what would £5,000 for an entire season get you? Well at Non-League Lewes FC, it will get you a luxury corporate beach hut (shed).

Each of the huts, there are four that accommodate six fans at £40 per person per game or you can of course take out the season option. For your money, you receive food, a mini bar, free Wi-Fi and a free match-day programme. The five grand also includes watching ladies team play plus the under 18/21 games.

The Ryman Premier League side from East Sussex attracts crowds of up to 800. The club hope renting the beach huts during the week for businesses seeking an unusual meeting location will bring extra finances.

Lewes FC commercial manager, Kevin Miller, said:

'We thought we'd dip our toe into the glamorous world of corporate hospitality.
'At this level we couldn't stretch to Premier League-style luxury.
'That said, our prices are a little more reasonable than the Premier League.
'These beach huts offer something a little different with entertaining, honest football set against a backdrop of the beautiful Sussex Downs.
'How many other football clubs in the world can offer that?'

I hope it brings in the cash for the Non-League club.
