I am looking forward to the next few weeks because there are many new and returning TV shows coming to a channel near you. I love my TV but as you can see, I like shows with experts helping or advising the ordinary joe public.
Monday 10:35pm BBC … 21 Up: New Generation. The children who were born in 1993 are adults and about to celebrate their 21st birthday. I love this social experiment type programmes and this two-parter concludes tomorrow. Also watchable in is Alex Polizzi – The Fixer, on BBC2 at 9pm and this week is helping a microbrewery in financial trouble.
Tuesday 8pm BBC2 … £100k House: Tricks of the Trade. Experts help members of the general public with building projects. Tonight a former nurse needs there help improving her tiny cottage.
Wednesday 9pm C4 … Grand Designs. I love this show and have a fantasy to build my own home when I win the lottery. To me this is like porn to the dirty mac brigade. In this episode a couple plan to build a cliff side monument, which they believe, will topple into the sea in about 60 years.
Thursday … Can’t say there is nothing much to excite me.
Friday 9pm C4 … 8 out of 10 cats does Countdown. I expect corny jokes and innuendo but a ruddy good laugh. Another comedy gem follows ‘The Last Leg’ so that’s my Friday night sorted. There is also ‘A league of their own’ on Sky 1, which I will be recording to watch at my leisure.
Here my films of the week but you need pay-for-view TV as most channels seem to have given up on showing film these days.
- Monday Sky Movies Action … Dredd (2012) 10pm – A law enforcer in a post-apocalyptic city must fight his way out a tower block dominated by a ruthless crime lord.
- Tuesday TCM … We are Marshall (2006) 9pm – An American coach strives to rebuild a team a tragedy.
- Wednesday No film to recommend
- Thursday Lifetime … Call me Crazy A Five Film (2013) 9pm – A moving collection of dramas focusing on mental illness and the effects on families.
- Friday Sky Movies Premiere … Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues (2013) 8pm – Ron Burgundy is back giving the viewer’s plenty of comedy
