In's and outs's - Transfer deadline - Two new strikers

Cardiff City were a bit busy yesterday with the end of the January transfer window with two loan strikers joining the club and the end of the outstanding debt to Langston which was settled out of court. Finally, we know who Langston was none other than former chairman Sam Hammam which I always believed although it has not been officially declared only in the back pages of the local press.

He still keeps the title of Life Club President has part of the settlement deal.

January brought in three new faces to the Cardiff City squad Lex Immers from Feyenoord came via a loan deal a week or so ago scoring his first goal for the club at the weekend. Yesterday the club picked up two strikers on loan until the end of the season. Kenneth Zohore joins the club via Cardiff City chairman’s Belgian team KV Krtrijk. Zohore signed from K.V. Kortrijk yesterday and was immediately sent on loan to Cardiff. He spent the last year playing for Odense Boldklub in the Danish Superliga scoring nine goals in 24 games.

Cardiff manager Russell Slade also secured Welsh international Tom Lawrence on loan from Leicester who had spent the first part of the season on loan at Championship rivals Blackburn Rovers scoring twice. Lawrence with an eye toward the Euro finals in the summer is looking for more first team football.

There have been a few departures during January with two going yesterday. Summer signing Gabriel Tames left the club having terminated his contract by mutual agreement. He is returning to his former club Steaua Bucharest after playing just one game for the Bluebirds. Another signing under Slade was on his way yesterday Alex Revell it was expected he would be going out on loan but left the club after he signed a permanent deal with MK Dons.
