Class of '92: Full Time - TV Review

Remember the Class of '92 documentary about Salford City and their new owner’s former Manchester United players Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Nicky Butt, Gary, and Phil Neville the (class of ‘92) has transferred from the BBC to Sky Sports and aired last night. The make-up of the owners of Salford is Peter Lim (50%) and the others 10% each although Peter Lim is not seen in the documentaries.

In this third series of this documentary “Class of '92: Full Time” is charting the club redeveloping, their ground has well as their programme to turn the club into a full time professional outfit for the end of last season . In this episode, we see a lot of meetings as the owners discuss their plans as the players, managers, and volunteers feel the talks affecting morale and results.

One of the main hurdles is the ground redevelopment and with some locals upset with the plans, the Salford board need to keep their fingers crossed as they go before the council planning committee.
On the pitch, the team hit a run of bad luck and the pressure begins to take a toll on the manager partnership who fear for their jobs as they fall down the league table. But a sudden turn in fortunes on the field and Salford City start to climb back up the table.

The planning committee give the green light for the redevelopment and now the rush is on to get the first stage build before the FA inspection team visit the ground. The managers are offered full time contracts but the money doesn’t match their wages working outside football. The problem been the budget of the manager is for one but must be split into two we will have to wait until next week for the outcome.

I like a look into non-league football and I will be tuning in for the next instalment next Sunday on Sky Sports Premier League and Sky Sports Main Event.
