I have set a lot on my diet and my resolve to stick with it but I have found something I would risk the wrath of the scales to munch on and there should be a drum roll here ... a foot long (12 inches) pig in a blanket and wait for it … in batter.
A bored chip shop owner has come up with this beauty for his customers what a hero. The Christmas special contains a reputed 1000+ calories but its not putting his customers off they are queuing around the corner to get their hands on one. The whopper comes with accompaniments two stuffing balls also fried in batter and gravy on the side.
According to the shop’s owner, it takes him around an hour-and-a-half to knock up 50 servings of the pork and bacon delicacy – using 7kg (15lbs) of meat and stuffing balls and a gravy topping. The product costs £2.30 and is very popular but you will have to go to Leeds to sample the creation.
I would love to try one, as I love festive pigs in blanket treats one of the highlights of Christmas, any time of the year really. The biggest pigs in blankets I can get my choppers around are the ones sold in Tesco made from a chipolata sausage but only a around four inches long but one can dream about that foot long piece of heaven sitting in a chippy in Leeds.
Hey, I may be unable to build a foot long treat but I will seek out a sausage worthy because I just have to make one. Hell I am going to try it during the Christmas holidays and go for the full on with batter.
