Tottenham Coming ... Nothing To Worry About

Cardiff City face a massive game against Tottenham today with the visitors still hurting from a 3-1 defeat at home to Wolves on Saturday. Cardiff were celebrating the first away win at Leicester City at the weekend taking, the 3 points with a late, late goal for a 1-0 win.

A sell-out crowd is expected before a break from league football next Saturday Cardiff travel to Gillingham for a third round FA Cup fixture and more about that later in the week. Has 2018 has gone it’s been good for Cardiff winning promotion and automatically. I think most fans thought a play-off place would have been the best season end for the Bluebirds. Confounding pundits who predicted Cardiff would spend the season propping up the Premier League has been special.

Off the pitch Cardiff, seem to be running smoothly and if the manager is happy everyone should feel the same. Money is tight in a league where money talks in the transfer market good bargains are the target for manager Neil Warnock who is reported to be interested in three or four new players.

On the subject, the January window will open at one minute past midnight tonight and Deadline Day is January 31, with all business completed before the window closes at 11pm. With the relegation tag around the neck of the club Warnock doesn’t expect make any quick signings but as an air expectance that new blood will arrive before Deadline Day.

This January it’s claimed that Warnock wants Nathaniel Clyne on loan from Liverpool with Fulham, Leicester are also interested, with more suitors coming out of the woodwork I expect. However, Warnock believes he has an edge over other clubs having previous worked with the player at Crystal Palace when he managed them. Another named linked to Cardiff is Dundee midfielder Glen Kamara with Celtic also eyeing up the player along with others.

Argentinean Emiliano Sala and Nantes striker has been linked to the Bluebirds' for a while sounds like he is Warnock’s top target, although talks on him signing have recently cooled saying he doesn’t want to come to Cardiff, what a cheek. Expect plenty of rumoured transfer talk over in the media over the next month.

When asked about injuries he pointing out he is not aware of any. Jazz Richards is training and Danny Ward is doing some light training. Zohore is still a while away. So Warnock has no fresh injury concerns going into the game.

Back in October Tottenham were lucky to beat Cardiff 1-0 at their Wembley home and the last time we played them was the last time we were in the Premier League, both games won with a 1-0 score line.

Prediction, prediction foretold Prediction, yeah, from the days of old …. with little or no respect for Cardiff City. BBC Sport's football expert Mark Lawrenson along with his guest both have gone for a 2-0 win, nothing new there. I have yet to read Robbie Savage prediction for today’s game but does anybody need to see it written in stone but bet it’s a win for Tottenham.
