Emiliano Sala's still making the news on the front and back pages of the newspapers with is body found in the wreckage of the plane and is devastated family now have some closure. On the back page, there are reports that Salas former club Nantes have demanded the first instalment of the transfer fee be paid and chatter that Cardiff could be docked league points if the fee is not paid on time.
Back to football and Cardiff are on the road again to relegation candidates Southampton and if we beat them we will leapfrog them out of a relegation zone. The victory over Bournemouth last weekend help Cardiff remain in the battle to stay in Premier League defeat would have left them (Cardiff) five points from safety instead of two points going into this weekend game due to the win.
Back in December, Cardiff had a 1-0 win over Southampton at the Cardiff City Stadium with Callum Paterson’s goal giving Cardiff City the precious points. If you look at the stats over the last five games the home team have won two and drawn three while Cardiff have won one, drawn one, losing three but stats don’t win games.
Harry Arter could return having been ineligible to face his parent club Bournemouth last weekend. Will Cardiff boss Neil Warnock keep the same starting line up as for the win over Bournemouth? Victor Camarasa may be fit after injury he could make the game but Warnock is weary of throwing him back into action to soon. Captain Sean Morrison remains out.
Games that matter
Cardiff along with Crystal Palace were the big winners last weekend and this as the potential to be just as important this week.
Brighton v Burnley
Crystal Palace v West Ham
Fulham v Man Utd
Huddersfield v Arsenal
Wolves v Newcastle (Monday Kick-Off)
So to predictions as you know I look to Mark Lawrenson and Robbie Savage for their expertise and nearly always both are going with a defeat but hey Lawro’s guest give the Bluebirds a win.
