I first noticed Honey Wilder advertising films in various men’s mags and the first time I saw her in action was in the video magazine Electric Blue that did little to quash my interest in her. With home video taking off there were plenty of video shops opening. They would sell and rent out videos and I happen to join a shop with a roaring trade with under the counter videos.
I remember getting a pirate copy of “The Empire Strikes Back”, it would have been better to have gone to the cinema the quality was so bad. Becoming a trusted customer, I was invited to beyond under the counter and the hidden world of porn. The first film actually featured Miss Wider and another recipient of the Sunday Lust award Kay Parker that turned out to be an interesting film. I was expecting British soft porn to be honest but got uncensored hard-core stuff. It would have been a revelation if I had not seen such material before thinking back to Tommy’s dad super-8 stag films.
Miss Wilder was a full on firecracker quite a busty older woman with bold brunette hair and a wicked look in her eyes and a damn sexy voice. She could fill out a bra beautifully and that is a bonus to a fan like me.
Throughout the 1980s, Honey Wilder represented the "older woman" segment of X-films often in a supporting role and no fake breasts or facial surgery here. She starred in three of the Taboo series, which must be some of her best work and was very easy on the eye playing the mature role, a seductress and I liked she was a woman playing her age more or less.
She was in her late twenties when entering the porn business late for the time and retired by time she reached forty and working behind the scenes on mainstream film and TV. She was highly respected within the porn circles for her passion for her work some former work colleagues suggesting she like the sex more than she did most of her fellow actors.
She is noted to have made around 70 films from the early eighties until she retired in 1988.
