The Road to the FA Cup and Welsh Cup continue

CUP football again this weekend with the FA Cup and the Welsh Cup fixtures being played so it is time to continue my route to both finals. In the FA Cup the team, carrying me forward is Charlton who had an away fixture against AFC Wimbledon earlier today.

While in the Welsh Cup, Pontypridd Town of the Welsh League Division 2 are my torchbearer as we head to the final.
Pontypridd Town faced opposition in the form of Welsh Football League Division One club Haverfordwest County at their Ynysangharad Park ground with the visitors currently top of their league. Accordingly, that would tip the game towards them but Pontypridd are also riding high second in their league table making for what could be an interesting game.

The game was not tight as I previously thought it might have been. Pontypridd running away with the game with a score line 3-1 with the visitors losing a player and going down to 10-men after a second half dismissal. So they will be in the draw for the fourth round with the draw live on S4C at 7pm tomorrow.

With all lower league Cardiff based teams out of the Welsh Cup only Welsh Premier team Cardiff Met who entered the competition at this round is left. Like I said before in other post the best chance to make it to the Final. They beat off the challenge of Penybont to progress into the next round as 3-1 winners.

It was a Sunday kick off Charlton at AFC Wimbledon both looking to win and be in the draw for the third round when the Premiership and Championship teams enter the competition. Every fan in the third round hold out hope to be drawn against one of the Manchester teams, or Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal.

AFC Wimbledon reached the FA Cup third round in this London derby against fellow League One side Charlton Athletic. At half time, the game was tied at 1-1 but two goals late into the second half saw Wimbledon run out winners 3-1, are in the draw, and are my new team. The third round draw will take place live on BBC 2 tomorrow at 7pm.

Welsh watch saw Newport go through to the Third round where they will be join by Cardiff City and Swansea City there's a fixture to lick your lips that.
