World Cup 2018 London .. No not that World Cup the CONIFA its Football

The football season is ending and some may be looking forward to the “World Cup” but I am not with no Welsh representation but my need to be involved in football during the summer break is great and then you come across a competition you have never heard of before. That is football for you when you open your eyes, have a look around, and smell something out. There will be home nation interest you have England in the World Cup and in this Ellan Vannin, “Who are they? Exactly”, interested see links below.

It’s “The ConIFA Football World Cup”  a tournament for unrecognised states, minorities, people groups, and regions that are not affiliated with FIFA. It is the third edition of the tournament, which is effectively a successor to the “VIVA World Cup” another competition that never registered with me. I find the whole idea of the tournament romantic and my lack of interest in what I call ‘big’ football and my newfound interest in lower league football feeds me.
Abkhazia are defending champions having defeated Panjab in 2016. Panjab are currently top of CONIFA World Rankings.

There are 16 teams have qualified for the tournament with the games being played in England during May 29 and June 7 at selected non-league grounds around London with four stadiums outside of Greater London will also host games. I wonder if there was a Welsh team mainly due to the fact there is a Yorkshire team they have only just registered in January this year and have yet to play a game.

Not sure about the criteria to joining if Yorkshire why not South Glamorgan.

A number of games will be live streamed on social media … One of the opening games, one quarter-final, both semi-finals and the final
