It was Welsh Cup football on the weekend and my armchair travels took me to Aberaeron where Brecon Corries were heading for this Round One fixture. They won, and were given a home game in the next round against Aberbargoed Buds. Could Corries win and make it to the Third Round when the big boys of Welsh football enter the ring.
I like to keep an eye on the Cardiff based teams and into the First round there were only three. One fell by the way side, AFC Butetown losing out away from home 5-1 to Afan Lido. The two left in for today’s earlier draw Caerau Ely, 4-0 winners at home over Undy Athletic and Cardiff Metropolitan who travelled to Llantwit Fardre and came away with a 1-0 win.
There reward in the draw today were Cardiff Metropolitan v Penybont and Goytre United v Caerau Ely.
