Must see TV - Week beginning 4/11/2017

I so loved ‘Blue Planet II’ last week and can’t wait for the next instalment making Sunday my must view night. The Walking Dead was ramping up a notch but I couldn’t wait for the official broadcast and reverted to an early morning search for an iffy streaming internet site. I did find one that was fairly easy to view some could be a nightmare.

This upcoming week is pretty bare the standout show looks to be the subtitled Babylon Berlin. A lavish German crime drama tipped to be a global hit and exclusive to Sky customers on Sky Atlantic leaving you with some iffy internet search to watch if you are desperate or wait for the box set. There is no Monday this week because there was nothing worth mentioning.

Saturday 4 Nov – Comedy Central – Ghost Town (2008) 11pm *** Film***

Ricky Gervais, a dentist who gains the ability to communicate with the dead after momentarily dying during a routine medical procedure. When the dearly departed begin requesting favours from Dr. Pincus, the self-absorbed dentist finds that living with ghosts isn't easy.

Fortunately, recently deceased businessman Frank Herlihy (Greg Kinnear) agrees to keep the dead at bay if Dr. Pincus will just agree to prevent his widow, Gwen (Téa Leoni), from tying the knot to humourless human rights lawyer Richard (Billy Campbell). According to Frank, Richard is just another morally corrupt gold-digger out to take the wealthy Gwen for all she's worth. At first Dr. Pincus agrees to go along with the ruse, though it isn't long before he begins to question his supernatural sidekick's true motivation.

Sunday 5 Nov - Sky Atlantic - Babylon Berlin 9pm *** New series***

German crime drama set in the 1920s, starring Volker Bruch as police inspector Gereon Rath, from Cologne, is transferred to Berlin in order to solve a criminal case - a porno ring run by the Berlin Mafia. What at first glance appears to be simply a matter of extortion soon reveals itself a scandal that will forever change the lives of both Gereon and his closest associates?

Together with steno typist Charlotte Ritter and his partner Bruno Wolter, Rath is confronted with a tangled web of corruption, drug dealing, and weapons trafficking, forcing him into an existential conflict as he is torn between loyalty and uncovering the truth. And we are left wondering: in this story, who is friend and who is foe? With the political unrest spurred by May Day demonstrations and rising National Socialism, even an institution like the "Rote Burg”, Berlin's police headquarters and the centre of democracy and the constitutional state, is increasingly becoming the melting pot of a democracy whose days are numbered.

Tuesday 7 Nov – Channel 4 – The Secret Life of 4 Year Olds 8pm *** New series***

The return of Channel 4 documentary exploring the social interactions of a group of children aged 4/5 years old. Tuesday 7 Nov – Channel 4 – Grand Designs: House of the Year 9pm *** New series***

That time again to lick my lips at the viewing of beautiful houses around the UK as Kevin McCloud visits homes in the running for the Royal Institute of British Architects House of the Year.
Architect Damion Burrows, and Michelle Ogundehin, editor-at-large of Elle Decoration, will join him.

I am mostly jealous of the houses in this show, sit back, and dream what if I won that big lottery win and how I would spend it. My mind may be full of dream but it could change after watching this programme.

Kicking things off, they visit five properties, which draw on local materials and traditions, including a 21st-century shepherd's hut in Scotland.
