With Terry Hall, Neville Staple, and Lynval Golding no longer with The Specials the rest were led by Jerry Dammers soldiering on as The Special AKA. The new sound on the next album (In the Studio) split the fan base adding to the rumblings after the second album (More Specials). Many felt the last two albums were going too far from their roots of their debut album (The Specials) the curse of having such a fantastic first album.
"What I like Most about You Is Your Girlfriend" was a strange one and the only Specials single I did not buy for no other reason I had the album. The video was a strange one with Dammers playing an alien happening on a club and his instantly attracted to a sailor’s girlfriend who he eyes up while talking to him, well singing. The song was a minor hit in the UK with its tongue in cheek lyrics and it features some amazing horn playing by Rico Rodrigues and Dick Cuthell.
