A Butchers Pie - Pie Review

I have walk past RJ Berry butchers in Canton so many times it would be hard to count. I knew inside he sold his own pies and I was thinking it was about time we were introduced.

I told the wife I wanted pie and chips last night and gave her instructions on where to get the pie.
The pie had a hefty weight as I put it on an oven tray before warming it up in the oven. The top has a lovely colour to it and I was really looking forward to getting my fork into it.

I clipped the corner of the pie and waited for the gravy to pour out but there was not even a trickle a bit of a disappointment I love a pie full with lovely gravy. The pie was full to the brim and the pastry looked inviting and tasted really nice.

There was plenty of meat filling; it was a steak pie, with a cost of £2.50 so I was looking out for skimping on the filling. The steak was chunky and not chewy or fatty and in every way works. What gravy was to be found was ok a bit thin not my kind of pie gravy. Not a 10 maybe but still a very tasty pie that I would be happy to buy again.
