The Yorkshire Pudding Pie

There is a stirring down Cardiff Bay, a new something as been designed for the special ones, which could start a rumbling debate with consequences worldwide. This news blew my mind but wait I thought to myself could it be called a ‘Pie’.

Yes, one of my favourite subjects, food, and in particular pies. The Crepe Escape in Cardiff Bay are the people behind the “Yorkshire Pudding Pie” yes you heard and to me I am curious and enough to jump on the bus and give it a try. Still it is difficult imagining such a pie when it comes to pies I am a very traditional connoisseur of the standard pie and this his not.

I actually, like a nice Yorkshire with my Sunday roast this will be a tad different but I will have to wait until the weekend as they plan to sell these Yorkshire pies weekends but throughout the winter. If there is demand, they might sell them on to weekdays, too. I had better get there quickly just in case the flop and stop selling them.

Sometime I like to fill my Yorkshire with Sunday dinner and top it with some potatoes, yummy, and I would have call it a pie.

"Last year we were doing Yorkshire pudding wraps," said Alison Jones, who owns The Crepe Escape, with locations in both Cardiff Bay and Penarth.
"This year we wanted to look at something different but still involving our favourite - the Yorkshire pudding."
The 42-year-old added: "I thought about filled Yorkshire pudding, toad in the hole etc. but wanted to do something a bit different.
"Then we thought why not put a lid on it.
"By making it into a pie it meant we could make it more versatile by using traditional pie fillings and not just roast meat.
"We also really liked the idea then of it being the classic pie and mash. but with a twist."
The pies will start from £3.50 and will cost £4.50 with mash.

So what is the inside of the pie made up of well there are a number of options mince beef and onion, sausage and red onion chutney, and chicken, mushroom and ham in a creamy sauce. The verdict on Pie or what every coming soon as I eat one.
