Must see TV - Week beginning Sat 6 October 2018

Big week for followers of the Zombie gene with the long awaited return of “The Walking Dead” and another favourite of mine anyway “Z Nation” both well worth a watch. There is going to be plenty of cast changes for the Walking Dead this series we will have to see how that will work out. Of course we have the Doctor Who to look forward to now moved from its normal Saturday spot to a Sunday we will have to wait and see how that works out.

Sunday – BBC1 – Doctor Who 6:45pm (New Series)

It has arrived the first female Doctor Who with Jodie Whittaker making her debut as the 13th Doctor, who crash lands following an explosive regeneration that has apparently destroyed the Tardis. She finds herself lost and alone in Sheffield, with no memory of who she used to be - and has an encounter with three seemingly ordinary people whose lives are about to change forever. The Doctor's new companions are Bradley Walsh, Tosin Cole, and Mandip Gill

Sunday – BBC1 – Still Open All Hours 8:30pm (New Series)

Some good old gently comedy for a Sunday night see Granville tries to sell bargain spectacles that do nothing for his customers' eyesight, while Mr Newbold is inspired to take control of his life by a self-help book and resolves to tell Mrs Featherstone how he really feels about her. Eric tries to persuade Kath to join him on a camping holiday, and Leroy receives a mysterious package.

Sunday - BBC2 – Last Chance Lawyer: New York City 9pm (New Series)
Documentary following the exploits of criminal lawyer Howard Greenberg, who wages `war' against the US government from his office in Brooklyn. In this opening episode, it becomes clear that Howard will go to any lengths to preserve the liberty of the people he represents. From dreaming up a fictitious courtroom diary clash to keep a defendant out of prison, or changing his trousers in the street outside the Supreme Court, it's all part of the style and strategy that goes with Howard's mantra - `winning isn't everything, it's the only thing'.

Monday – BBC1 – Money for Nothing 3:45PM (New Series)

My afternoon little pleasure is back and Sarah Moore and her team return to transform more items reclaimed from a tip. In this episode Sarah, team of contacts making over an old sewing box, a set of metal drawers, and a bicycle someone could be making money from nothing.

Monday – Channel 4 – Dispatches 8pm (New Series)

Have you been burgled, robbed, or assaulted but feel that the police brushed you off? You're not alone. Dispatches hears from victims of crime who claim that the police have failed to investigate their cases fully, if at all. These are stories of violent attacks, homes broken into, property vandalised, and family businesses left to fend for themselves against thieves. Exclusive research featured in the programme raises concerns that Britain is now sliding into a new era of policing. One of the most comprehensive analyses to date reveals the levels of crimes that many forces are choosing not to investigate.

Monday – Fox – The Walking Dead 9pm (New Series)

The storyline picks up months after the defeat of Negan under an alliance of communities spearheaded by Rick Grimes. This season will focus on the united communities as they face obstacles and threats to their alliance, with the threat of the mysterious Whisperers looming.
Rick and his group make a risky run into Washington, DC to search for artefacts they will need to build the civilisation him and Carl envisioned. Post-apocalyptic drama, also speculation is also rife about how lead actor Lincoln, who has portrayed Grimes since the show’s inception, will exit the show.

Monday – History Channel – Al Murray: Why does everyone hate the English 9pm (New Series)

The award-winning comedian and history fanatic finds out what lies behind England's greatest feuds with closest neighbours Wales, Scotland, Ireland, Germany, and France. Joining up with Antoine de Caunes, he begins with France. Has a proud Welshman I didn’t hate the English I don’t wake up at night shouting those damn English but this should be a fun watch.

Tuesday – Pick – Z Nation 10pm (New Series)

Synopsis: A group of survivors must cross the country with a possible cure for the zombie apocalypse. The holder of the cure, a zombie-human hybrid named Murphy, may not be so cooperative.
The new series opens with Warren recovers from the drone crash with the mysterious Cooper. Doc and the others finally arrive in Newmerica, where they meet George, who is helping form the new country.
Wednesday – Channel 4 – The Bisexual 10pm (New Series)

Comedy drama series that explores the difference between dating men and women from the perspective of a person who, for the first time, finds herself doing both. New Yorker Leila lives in London in a seemingly perfect relationship with girlfriend and business partner, Sadie. However, Leila has a secret - she is bisexual. Realising that she is living a lie, Leila makes a drastic decision with unexpected consequences.


Thursday – W - Women on the Verge 10 pm (New Series)

New Sitcom, starring Kerry Condon, Nina Sosanya, and Eileen Walsh as friends struggling to cope with complicated lives. Alison plans to get back with her ex even though she does not love him, Laura tries to get her life in order after a disastrous incident at a family christening, and Katie considers artificial insemination. 
W channel have been throwing up a number of little comedy sitcoms like this some however have been cancelled after one series. That leaves you hanging with I hate.

Friday – Netflix UK - The Haunting Of Hill House N/A (New Series)

The Haunting of Hill House explores a group of siblings who, as children, grew up in what would go on to become the most famous haunted house in the country. Now adults, and forced back together in the face of tragedy, the family must finally confront the ghosts of their past — some of which still lurk in their minds while others may actually be stalking the shadows of Hill House.

Friday – BBC1 – Would I lie to You 9:30pn (New Series)

Footballer-turned-property expert Dion Dublin, comedians Bob Mortimer and Lucy Porter, and the lovely Debbie McGee join host Rob Brydon and regular captains David Mitchell and Lee Mack on the comedy panel show. As usual, the participants aim to hoodwink their opponents with absurd facts and plausible lies about themselves in a bid to secure a team victory.

Friday – Channel 4 – The Last Leg 10pm (New Series)

Adam Hills, Josh Widdicombe, and Alex Brooker are joined by celebrity guests including John Cleese for a comic review of the significant moments of the past seven days. The trio offer their own unique insight into some of the most difficult and delicate issues in modern Britain, and answer that most important of questions: Is it OK?
